Sourcing Quality to Deliver Performance
At Bahrain Steel, high-quality raw materials are the foundation of our world-class iron ore pellets. We specialize in converting iron ore fines into agglomerated, indurated pellets that meet the exacting standards of steelmakers operating Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) processes as well as blast furnaces.
As a fully independent merchant pelletiser, Bahrain Steel is not tied to any single mining operation. This gives us the flexibility to source iron ore from the best global suppliers, ensuring consistent quality, performance, and supply chain resilience.
Our primary sources of iron ore include Brazil, Chile, Canada, and Europe, with the majority of supply currently sourced from Brazil. This global procurement strategy allows us to produce a range of pellet specifications tailored to customer needs.
In addition to iron ore, we import other key materials — including bentonite, limestone, and anthracite — all of which are essential to the pelletizing process.
To support efficiency and reduce logistics complexity, all raw materials are received through Bahrain Steel’s dedicated deep-water marine terminal, located adjacent to our production facilities. This strategic setup ensures streamlined unloading, handling, and inventory management — enabling uninterrupted operations and reliable delivery to our customers.
