Pelletizing Process

Precision Pelletizing for the World’s Steelmakers

At Bahrain Steel, iron ore pellets are produced to consistent size and high-quality specifications to meet the rigorous requirements of steelmakers around the world. Our state-of-the-art pelletizing plants follow a fully automated, precision-driven process that ensures efficiency, uniformity, and minimal waste - backed by robust logistics from port to port.

Offloading Operations

Raw materials such as iron ore fines are received via Bahrain Steel’s marine terminal.

Raw Material Stockyard

Materials are stored and managed for blending and processing.

Grinding

Iron ore fines are ground to the desired particle size.

Mixing

Ground ore is blended with additives including bentonite and limestone.

The material is formed into soft “green pellets”.

Optimal Processing

Grate-Kiln Technology

Bahrain Steel employs advanced 100% natural gas-based Grate-Kiln technology to achieve optimum pellet quality. This cutting-edge system minimizes fines generation and produces spherical pellets of uniform size, ensuring excellent bed permeability during processing. Our two pelletizing plants together have a production capacity of 12 million tons annually, meeting the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
