Manama, Bahrain – 20 March 2023: Bahrain Steel, a subsidiary of Foulath Holding, recently completed the construction and installation of a set of new mooring dolphins at Berth no.5, located in the Bahrain Steel Terminal. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary of Ports Affairs, H.E. Mr. Bader Hood Al-Mahmoud. The Ceremony was also attended by Capt. Mohamed Al Merbati, Director of Maritime Safety & Environmental Protection, Capt. Mazen Mohammed Al-Balooshi, Director of Port Operations & Technical Services at the Ports and Maritime Affairs, Capt. Adel Al Maskati and Dr. Wael Hassan Al Jasim from APM Terminals and members of Bahrain Steel and Foulath Holding.
As part of the Company’s continued efforts to improve its safety conditions and adhere to international best practices, the newly developed mooring dolphins and accessway will provide for safe mooring and unmooring operations of vessels docked at the Bahrain Steel Port, as well as safe access to all authorities and personnel boarding the vessels.
Commenting on the occasion, H.E. Mr. Bader Hood Al-Mahmoud, Assistant Undersecretary of Ports Affairs, said: “We are pleased to be joining Bahrain Steel in the inauguration of their newly constructed mooring dolphins located at Berth no. 5 in the Bahrain Steel Port.”
The Ports and Maritime Affairs play a supervisory role at all commercial ports in the Kingdom, with a responsibility to confirm the readiness of the ports and docks, as well as the safety, security and operations of various facilities. In addition to inspecting business processes and all systems utilised in the docks to ensure they align with local laws, regulations, and global best practices.
